Alberta's COVID-19 Response

Wednesday, April 1, 2020

On March 27, the government introduced new measures for close contact businesses such as hair salons and barbershops, dine-in restaurants, and non-essential retail businesses, including clothing, gift and sporting goods stores.

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, these businesses are required to close but may offer customers online shopping and curbside pick- up. Find out more information HERE.

The list of essential businesses that are permitted to operate in Alberta can be found HERE. These businesses must have proper risk mitigation measures in place, such as sanitation stations and appropriate distancing between customers.
