Understanding changes within the industry is vital to agricultural equipment manufacturers. AMC provides members with timely updates on standards, regulations and legislation.
When designing and producing agricultural equipment, manufacturers follow set standards and regulations. When selling agricultural equipment, manufacturers adhere to provincial legislation governing that activity.
Standards for Designing and Producing
Canadian Standards
The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) sets standards for manufacturers in Canada. Their standards address safety, health, environmental and quality of life needs. Roll-over protective structures, operator controls and power take-off drive shafts are just a few of the areas covered by CSA standards.
International Standards
Many AMC members export their products, meaning they follow the higher standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). The international standards intend to enhance the engineering of machinery so that it is more efficient and effective, and their specifications for agricultural equipment improve quality and safety.
