The Certificate of Achievement in Safety & Health (CASH) Program is a Safety Management System Standard that provides a statement of principals and general guidelines that govern safety and safe work activities. The CASH Program is available to help companies with workplace safety and health.

The CASH program includes a Standard that contains information for:

Standard

The CASH Standard for Health & Safety Management Systems is designed to assist organizations to develop a safety management system. It was developed in accordance with the recommendations from the Saskatchewan Joint Industry Committee and in consultation with provincial legislation. CASH Certification

In order for an organization to receive a CASH certificate from AMC, there are three requirements. Develop and implement a safety management system derived from the CASH Standard. Complete an application to have the system evaluated. Pass an external audit performed by an AMC recognized auditor. For a copy of the CASH Certification Process and governance Download - PDF. Audit

The audit is a thorough evaluation of the safety and health management system. It is completed to verify that the system is functioning as intended. Verification is achieved by reviewing the documentation that the Safety and Health Management System generates, and comparing it observations made on the facility floor and interview responses from randomly chosen employees. An audit tool has been developed by AMC that is based on the CASH Standard that incorporates the documentation, observation and interview techniques.

The Audit Tool lists instructions on conducting the audit of compliance with the Cash Program Standard. Read the Audit Information Sheet first and then follow the steps in each section to conduct the audit.
